It is really simple, although you must have a 3d card which is capable of full screen antialiasing in order to do this. I set my d3d profile to have 6x antialiasing and 16x anisotropic filtering, and ran Wipeout 2097. Lo and behold, the game was running at a nice 37 fps. Perfect! This also has the side effect of making the graphics ultra-smooth and sharp, the best any current wipeout has looked so far.

I found this when I was playing the demo of Sega Rally 2 and noticed the jaggies, after which I remembered how turning on antialiasing would make things smoother, and as well would put some stress on the GPU. So I went into the ATI control panel and changed my d3d settings to those listed above.

I hope this helps.

Finally I can play Wipeout 2097 like I once did back in 1997!!! Wooooohhhhooooooo!!!!

Good to hear. I was hoping to run high resolution and full detail levels. Damn I can't wait. Now if I can get a analog stick controller to work with it I will be in Wipeout Heaven. Network play will be the next step to take.

Also can't you just extremly underclock your video card to make the game run slower? I have a smoking setup with 3.6ghz P4 HT, and 9700pro. I have it at higher than a 9800pro settings(390mhz/360mhz) but sure I can underclock it to like 290/275mhz instead of 325/310 stock.

Check out that post. I used the app it mentions and it works so good it can slow your pc down.
