Along time ago on this very forum i started a thread : http://www.wipeoutzone.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=708&highlight= showing the 3d models i made which were slightly based on the ships in wipeout.
Well after only one year (lol) i`ve now got to the stage where i have help ,and that help so far has brought forth a tutorial on how to:
Build and texture a track, attach cameras to the track.
Build and texture the actual ships themselves.
And put all the objects together to form your very own Wipeout intro.

Now the site owner of www.3d-palace.com has asked me to find people intrested in making banners/neons/objects in 2d or 3d (which ever u work with) so that we can dot your artwork around the tutorial.
So any artwork at all u will allow us to use,we will try fit them in,also if a moderator reads this we would like to use u`r banner for the tutorial and as a link to this site.

So with that, pelase send your stuff or comments to: darktrancer@3d-palace.com

Ps theres a 2 day limit on this in order to get the tutorial done and ready for download.
Thnx to all in advance.

The wipeout tutorial is coming along nicely, I have prepped up a few preview shots from the array of cameras around the track using the proxy wipeout ship to give an idea of how it looks, bear in mind that animated this thing looks incredible, I shall prepare a preview of that though.

Ok, heres another pic from the tutorial, this is the finished and untextured Feisar model.

http://www.3d-palace.com/modules/gallery/albums/userpics/fiesar.jpg

Now down to what the tutorial covers.

Making the track
Making the ground
Making the buildings
Making the props
Making the advertising hoardings
Making the rotating banners
Making the 'easter egg'
Testuring the above
Placement of track lighting
Placement of the track cameras
Creation of the animation paths for ship and camera
Camera tweaking
Creation of the wipeout ships
Texturing of the wipeout ships
Animation of the wipeout ships
Scene rigging
Special effects
Scene assembly
Post effects

There we are, enough to get by on.

The feisar is now complete, the animation paths are all done, all that remains is putting the ships onto the animation paths.

Ironically, and heres a twist for you, with the animation complete, with a little know how you could feed this tutorial into something like FLY3D (www.fly3d.com.br) and create a standalone wipeout type game. Its amazingly low poly the entire scene is at something like 70,000 so far.

Take care all

Hi zargz the images are link directly from 3d-palace so as not to use this sites bw, and also the track isn`t a replica of any track from the wipeout series,we have tried to carefully construct this tutorial and video so as not to infinge on any copyrights of Sonys, but a little artistic licence has been applied to make it reconiseable.

For a update on the status of this little project the 3d max studio tutorial (in avi format) and of course the final rendered movie will be up on 3d-palace.com within the next day or two which anyone is free to download and comment on.
any questions please feel free to mail me =o)

Hope u all like it.

For the 56k users I will produce a 56k video tutorial pack, at the moment the video tutorials come to about 6 hours in total, however they are to produce that entire test track. Its not one you would recognise because the tutorial shows how to make generic track pieces to make any track you like, so I produced pieces that would show the building of all the basic pieces needed.

Anyway, I hope anyone watching the tutorials or looking at the pics enjoys it, I will put a link to an AVI of the finished movie up in a few hours / days, its all completed now, just needs putting together in a video compositor.

Hi zargz the images are link directly from 3d-palace

zargz's point is that using the [img] BBCode makes users download them every time they visit the thread, which can be annoying on dial-up.
However, it seems that olblue has wisely edited his post and only left one image. This way, if people really want to see the other images, they just need to click on the links. And those who have already seen them don't need to download them again every time they visit the thread.
