Hi, I created a website allowing players to check the records, with different
views including: overview of all personal records, or global rankings.

Some people here already knew about it.

Times need to be entered manually, however the process is relatively quick once
you're accustomed to it, and everyone can add times of everyone (but can only
delete his own records, or the ones he added himself).

Also it's mostly useful to see the TOP scores, like the top 20, and those scores
don't change too often, so it doesn't need much updating.

Here's a quick tutorial with screenshots:

0) LOGIN + REGISTER


Use the PSN ID, because then you can see your own times highlighted.
(There is no link between this site and PSN network)

1) SPEED LAP leaderboard


Make sure to play with all the filters, you can view speed laps leaderboard in
any class, or even in ALL classes at the same time, or you can view all speed
laps (ordered from best to worst) in one particular class, there are many
possibilities!

2) OVERALL ranking: SPEED LAP / ALL TRACKS / PHANTOM


This is very useful, you can see that Flashback_Jack is the best SL racer,
something we would have guessed by looking at all individual races, but here it
confirms it and shows the total score, harder to guess if you're #2 or #3 right,
or even #10 or #11? Here you can see!

By the way nothing stops you from showing an overall ALL MODES / ALL TRACKS /
PHANTOM which would be the combined ranking of speed lap + time trial + zone +
multiplayer races + single races!

3) ELITE mode, it's SPEED LAP + TIME TRIAL


This mode really shows who's the best speed racer.

4) Personal overview (myself in the screenshot)


I find it VERY useful because I know where I fail and where I don't, which tells
me directly what I should practice next, and it worked, I used to have some
terrible time on sol 2 forward (21.x), then the website told me I needed to
improve it and now I'm almost 2 seconds faster!
One less weakness.

5) ADD records


Please add records of other players (if not already added),
especially those in the top 20/30/... Thanks!

6) EDIT 1 record


Only the record holder or the person who added the record can delete it,
anyone can modify the time and extra information
(but not the name nor the mode / track / class).

you can help with the translation
(mistakes in italian / german, or add a new language).

Oh yeah someone could host the website, or find a good and cheap host!

Good, I was wondering when the "Edit" button was going to appear. It was already working somewhat by re-entering the time, but now it's gonna be even better if you make mistakes you can correct it very easily.

Awesome job, Connavar. I`ve dreamed of something like this.

I agree with Chboing, it would be even more awesome if we didn`t have to enter times manually, but I`m not sure if SL would ever do something along these lines.

Brilliant though, and I WILL be using it. The fact you have already entered some times means we have to use it or have a low rank

Problem with SL database is that it doesn't update anymore. :S Most if not all of my records posted on his website are faster times than on WOHD records online.
For example, I really would like to see my 1.59.11 GOTEKI 45 Single Race record (ELITE AI) in 2nd place on the records table, but it's my FEISAR one at 1.59.32 showing up. :/
I wish there was a way to force the update on the server (Of course put a timer, say you can't refresh instantly, only every 10 or 15 minutes, so no mass connections attack can be performed through that), then we wouldn't need sites like this.
